Jake has a relatively bouncy stride and often has a grin upon his face, revealing his toothy canines and gleaming incisors. He takes pride in his teeth, and doesn't hesitate to show them off with a grin (of course he really just likes grinning and doesn't have any particular favoritism for his teeth). He's got a cream coat of fur medium length. It's longest around his thighs and tail as well as from the chest up. His neck is perhaps the fluffiest part of his body. His fur is soft to the touch and warm close to the skin. It allows him to wear summer clothing longer than fur-less humans can when it starts to get cold. In the winter his fur gets thicker, especially around his mid-section and in the colder months he's always trying to hide it. Long fur has a habit of making his clothing stick out in odd ways, and having a puff of fur on his stomach makes him look fat. In the summer time he sheds, a lot, and he keeps his own special cat brush in order to deal with it and not shed on everyone wherever he goes.
He can usually be seen running around in shorts, an undershirt, and his orange and black vest. Sometimes he'll go without the shirt, but his vest is almost always seen on him. He loves the thing to death and tries to keep it clean the best he can. On each shoulder and the back of the vest are little cat head symbols. Squished ovals with triangles on either side for ears and orange dots for eyes. They don't really serve as a clan marker, rather as just a memento to his heritage despite it being obvious from his looks alone. During missions or when he's not running about town he has a kunai wrap strapped to either leg. He's ambidextrous, though has a tendency to use his right hand more than hisleft for focusing things like chakra, and his left hand for manipulating it.
He stands at about four and a half feet, and though he may have some growing left he's pretty close to being as tall as he's gonna get. For a human that's short, but for a nincat he's a pretty tall guy. He's got long arms relative to his legs, and because of this he can run on all fours pretty easily. Not near as well as a normal cat, but it's a lot easier for him to move about on all fours than for a human.
He wears his hand-band around one ear and it hides an embarrassing tuft of head-fur that never likes to stay down. When not covered it tends to stick up every which way, and only godly amounts of hairgel seems to keep it down. In general Jake's fur is a bit scruffy, despite his attempts to look somewhat presentable when he goes out. Though when he tries to he can clean up nice and he looks rather dashing in a tux. When embarrassed he'll often grin, blush, and adjust his headband with his claws.

Jake is a bit of a cocky boy, he's got your typical teenageer attitude mixed in with the aloof assured-ness of a cat. He has a love a life, reflected by the symbol on his headband "Enjoy", and he follows that little philosophy pretty closely. He often takes the time to "smell the roses" and knows that it's often the little things in life that matter. He doesn't take his friends for granted, and he'll even try to be somewhat polite to his enemies. When he's not paying attention he can be a bit of a spazz, but all cats and boys have their moments.
He's a believer in hard work, but at the same time he slacks off when he can, thus sometimes making himself out to be a bit of a hypocrite. He doesn't do it on purpose though and if pointed out he tends to grin, embarrassed, and then throw his back into whatever task he's been given. When he sets his mind to something he can be determined and hard to sway, though he does listen to reason and if he likes the opposing view he may just change sides.

Also, when he's thirsty and not around any water he can drink the orbs as they're pure water with little to no impurities.)
Balance and Agility (As a cat he's naturally gifted when it comes to balance and agility. He can contort his body to avoid blows that humans wouldn't be able to avoid, often times saving himself from a shattered skull or rib-cage. He can also leap through the trees and climb many objects without having to use his chakra, which is a great aid when he's running low or when he simply needs to save it.)
Hearing and Smell (Being a cat also aids him when it comes to hearing and smelling, because of this he's a great tracker and will sometimes hire himself on as one. He can move quietly too and thus this makes him a great scout.)

Biography
Jake was a bit of a prankster when he was a young kit. He was always teasing his siblings and playing tricks on them. The chalkboard eraser above the door was a common one. There was only one of his siblings that he'd refuse to poke fun at though, and that's the sister he travels around with now. She was small and sickly when she was born, and the moment Jake saw her he took it upon himself to be her guardian. For the first time in his life he felt like he had a real purpose and a real goal. He wanted to be someone she could look up to and be proud of. He wasn't much older than her but cats age fast, and it was the same for Jake.
By the time his sister was walking Jake was entering school for young ninja cats. Here he learned the basics of chakra control the society of both their world and the outside. When he'd come back and tell his sister about it she was fascinated, showing a strong interest in his tales of the outside world. Of course he'd often spin them grander than what he was taught in school, but he loved the way his little sister would look at him in wonder with wide sparkling eyes.
When his little sister started school he was graduating to the next level. She'd tease him about how her teacher didn't talk about the lessons as wonderfully as he did, and he'd always blush and shrug and say "Yea well, they just don't have any passion ya know?" It was from him that she gained her own passion in life, and this fact made him immensely proud.
At a young age his sister wanted to explore the outside world, and so with permission from their parents and the nekomata they set off. Jake, of course, complained and tried to convince her that it would be better to stay home. He wasn't normally shy for adventure, but out in the world before they had their elements mastered? He agreed to go under one circumstance, that they find a village that would allow them as quickly as they could and train their skills to be able to protect themselves, maybe even enroll in the schooling there. She agreed, and the next thing Jake knew is that they were knocking at Konoha's door.
