Tenshu as supreme mastery over shadows, Nara's are like infants compared to him, anything he can do is related to the shadows he commands, with them his power his amazing and he can do anything he wishes. He also uses a sword and is very proficient with it.

Because he predates the emergence of the ninja arts, he has no knowledge about them and he cannot use them.

Tenshu was born when the world was created, a miracle of shadows and malevolence toward humankind gained shape and there he was, a living creature, created with one single purpose, to destroy the scourge that man are. Being an evil being, even if he doesn't think of himself that way, Tenshu bred numerous demons, included the famous Ten Tailed Beast, which was created by imbuing a portion of his soul on a large mass of chakra. His initial progresses were quick and decisive, mankind was dying easily as they had no way to counter his offensives or those of his bred army, but then something was altered, one enlightened individual, the Sage of the Six Paths, emerged from the oblivion of creation and by using mystical arts, sealed the Ten Tailed Beast within him, gaining incredible power and so Tenshu's goals were consequently forfeit, as despite being the oldest sentient alive, even his powers were not enough to best the Sage.
So he hid and plotted on his beloved shadows, trying to undermine the Sage's efforts to civilize the world, but a failure each time, a failure each attempt. He became aware that if he were to succeed, the Sage needed to die, and so in a valiant attack, he struck a deadly blow to his almighty enemy, yet even on his death, the Sage manage to thwart his plans, the Ten Tailed was divided into nine lesser beasts, Tenshu himself was damaged, damage that would take a thousand years to repair, so he hid yet again.
Years passed, mankind grew ever powerful, countless wars were waged, death, decay, wrath, rage kept destroying the planet, and Tenshu couldn't do anything to stop it, shinobis were crushing their home and no one cared. Tenshu did, and his powers steadily grew, his olds injuries healed, his prison weakened and he was ready to launch an attack upon the world of shinobis, this time to obliterate them all, once and for all eternity. But he was aware, why he had failed before, waging war against countless enemies were a doomed plan, he needed allies, willing or not, he desired strong people at his side, people that could help him further his goals without knowing it, so he joined the Neo Akatsuki.
